Here’s a simple way to make money locally that almost nobody does:
ask your city what they would buy before you ever spend a dollar.
Step one is simple. Create a one-question form using Google Forms or any AI site builder. The only question you need is:
“If someone in your local community knocked on your door selling something useful, what would you actually be interested in buying?”
Keep it short. Optional checkboxes can include things like kitchen tools, baked goods, garden items, cleaning supplies, seasonal products, or an open answer box.
Then you post this form in every local Facebook group in your hometown. Neighborhood groups. Community groups. Buy & sell groups. Anywhere locals gather online. Keep the message neutral and simple:
“Hey, I’m doing quick research on what kind of local products people would actually be open to buying door-to-door this year. Would appreciate 10 seconds of your input.” If you post consistently, you can easily get 100–200 responses in a medium-sized town.
You look at the data and find the pattern. Let’s say the majority says they’d most likely buy wooden kitchen utensils
Now you source the product. create an aliexpress account now and find nice wooden spoons etc. buy about 100 pieces your first time to test. like these that cost $5 for 5 pieces. $1 per spoon. you can easily sell one for $15 if you tell them that you made them yourself and that you are selling because you want to go on a class trip or something like that
