Jim Rohn's famous quote, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with," is a powerful truth. Your social circle can either be a tailwind pushing you toward your goals or a headwind holding you back. This thread is a guide to conducting a courageous and honest "Friendship Audit." It's about taking stock of your key relationships and assessing their impact on your ambition, your mindset, and your well-being. This is not about callously "dumping" old friends. It's about consciously deciding who gets your most valuable resource: your time. We'll discuss how to identify relationships that are consistently negative, draining, or unsupportive, and strategies for lovingly creating distance. We'll also talk about how to identify the people in your life who inspire and challenge you, and how to intentionally deepen those relationships. The goal is to curate a small, powerful inner circle that supports the person you are trying to become.
