Cut vs bulk gets discussed like everyone is a bodybuilder. Most people are not.
Here’s how I think of it:
Simple rule: you should look better shirt-on within 4–6 weeks if your plan is correct.
Drop your stats: height/weight/goal
And answer: Are you cutting, bulking, or recomping?
Here’s how I think of it:
- If you’re soft / no jawline/belly showing, cut first until you look sharp in a t-shirt.
- If you’re skinny / no shoulders / no chest, lean bulk (small surplus + heavy training).
- If you’re in between, do a recomp: lift hard, high protein, walk daily.
