“I Only Buy and Hold” — Cool, But What’s Your Sell Rule?

Everyone loves buy-and-hold until a stock drops 40% or doubles and you don’t know what to do.
Some sell frameworks:
  • sell when fundamentals break (thesis changed)
  • trim when position becomes too large (% of portfolio)
  • sell when valuation becomes extreme vs growth
  • never sell, but rebalance annually
Holding is easy. Decision-making is hard.
Question: What’s your sell rule—if you have one? Or do you hold forever no matter what?
