While I think sperging about ingredients for most things is gay, I do go for "clean ingredient" skincare products because if you use them for a long time, then you're quite literally subjecting yourself to the long-term effects of toxins.
1. La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer (SPF 30)
Rating: 7.5/10
Not much to say about this one, it's one of the most popular sunscreens out there, good EWG rating, you can find it pretty much everywhere in North America and it's cheap. Good moisturization and feels light on the skin. I just don't think it's worth using because it's only SPF 30 and does not have a UVA rating. I got this when I first started using sunscreen so I didn't get the tinted one. Wouldn't recommend because I don't see the point of cheaping out on sunscreen that won't even offer full coverage.
2. Thinksun Everyday Face Tinted (SPF 30)
Rating: 6/10
Has a weak SPF rating as you can see, and claims to have broad spectrum coverage but is not PA++++. Don't really remember much about it so it was probably pretty mid.
3. Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Tinted
Rating: 8.5/10
Saw the recommendation here, and I would say it's probably the best value sunscreen overall. High SPF, some UVA coverage, good EWG rating and fairly cheap. It feels kind of sticky/pasty on my skin which I don't really like and it sometimes doesn't apply well when I apply it to areas of dense facial stubble. "Broad spectrum" rated which is inferior to the PA++++ rating, but considering the price I would say it's worth it.
4. Colorscience Sunforgettable® Total Protection® Face Shield Flex SPF 50
Rating: 9/10
It's the most expensive sunscreen I've bought but clearly mogs all of the others in quality. SPF 50 and PA++++ and good EWG rating. The high price is the only reason that I use Australian Gold as my daily instead, because it is $58 USD for 1.8 fl oz (for comparison, Australian Gold is $25 for 3 oz...). Otherwise, it feels super light on the skin, and it uses some kind of formulation where the tint "blooms" and matches the color of your skin.
I fucked up with my purchase because I picked the "fair" color to match my skin tone like a retard, when I should've obviously picked a darker color for it to actually be tinted. As I was writing this I actually checked the website again and they updated their color picker quiz, and they added the option to state that you want the sunscreen to "give my skin tone some warmth", and it suggested a color two shades darker than what I purchased last time :lul:. I can't comment on if the tint looks good because of this but the blemish concealing aspect absolutely mogs.
TLDR: Australian Gold is a good daily sunscreen, colorscience is much more expensive but worth buying to at least wear when you go out or something
